INTRODUCTION OF SINTERED MUFFLER

Sintered mufflers are innovative components designed to reduce noise and manage airflow in various industrial applications. Manufactured through a sintering process, they involve compacting metal powders at high temperatures and pressures to create porous structures with controlled pore sizes. This method ensures uniformity and precision in muffler production. Sintered mufflers find wide application across industries such as automotive, HVAC systems, pneumatic equipment, and more, where noise reduction and efficient air filtration are essential. Their durable construction and customizable designs make them indispensable for achieving optimal performance and compliance with noise regulations in diverse operational environments.

Quality Assuarance for Sintered Muffler

DALON prioritize quality assurance through obtaining industry-leading certifications such as ISO 9001. This certification underscores our commitment to maintaining stringent quality management systems, ensuring that our sintered muffler consistently meet or exceed industry standards. By adhering to these certifications, we instill confidence in our customers, demonstrating our dedication to delivering products of exceptional quality and reliability.

Manufacturing Process

The manufacturing process of sintered mufflers involves several stages, including powder blending, compaction, sintering, and finishing. Quality assurance begins with the selection of raw materials, ensuring they meet specified requirements for composition, particle size distribution, and purity. Throughout each manufacturing step, strict process controls and monitoring are implemented to maintain consistency and integrity. Advanced techniques such as computerized process control and automated inspection systems are utilized to minimize variations and defects, resulting in reliable and uniform products.

Testing process

Comprehensive testing procedures are conducted at various stages of production to evaluate the performance and quality of sintered mufflers. This includes dimensional inspections to verify adherence to design specifications, porosity testing to assess permeability and filtration efficiency, and pressure testing to validate structural integrity and leak resistance. Additionally, acoustic testing is performed to measure noise attenuation characteristics, ensuring compliance with noise reduction requirements. These testing procedures are essential for identifying any deviations from standards and ensuring that only products meeting stringent quality criteria are released to the market.

Main Applications for sintered Muffler

Sintered mufflers, also known as porous metal mufflers, are widely used in various applications for noise reduction, filtration, and flow control. They are typically made from metal powders that are compacted and sintered together to form a porous structure. This porous structure allows gases or fluids to pass through while attenuating noise and filtering particles. Here are some main applications of sintered mufflers with detailed information:

Aerospace Industry

Serve as efficient filtration elements, preventing contaminants from entering sensitive hydraulic and pneumatic systems, thereby enhancing overall system reliability and performance.

Medical Equipment

Utilized in medical air compressors and vacuum pumps to minimize noise emissions and maintain sterile environments in medical facilities, contributing to patient comfort and safety.

Semiconductor Manufacturing

Used in gas delivery systems, vacuum pumps, and exhaust systems within semiconductor fabrication facilities to control gas and fluid flows while attenuating noise and filtering particles.

Renewable Energy

installed in hydraulic systems of wind turbine pitch control mechanisms help mitigate noise generated during blade adjustment, minimizing disturbances to nearby communities.

3

Pneumatic Systems

commonly used in pneumatic systems to reduce noise generated by the release of compressed air.

4

Hydraulic Systems

employed to mitigate noise generated during the operation of hydraulic pumps, valves, and cylinders.

1

Automotive Exhaust Systems

Typically used in conjunction with traditional baffled or chambered mufflers to further attenuate exhaust noise.

2

Industrial Machinery

serve as effective filtration barriers, preventing the ingress of contaminants into machinery components.

FAQ

Q: What is a sintered muffler?

A: Quiet flow mufflers/ filters utilize porous sintered bronze directly bonded to nickel-plated steel pipe thread fillings to diffuse air and muffle noise from the exhausted ports or valves, cylinders, and air tools.

Q: Which material is best for muffler?

A: A commonly used grade developed in the 1960's for mufflers, type 409, is a chromium ferritic stainless steel having nominally 11% chromium and stabilized with titanium. Higher chromium steels are also used and provide greater oxidation and corrosion resistance.

Q: What is the purpose of a pneumatic muffler?

A: Pneumatic mufflers, also called silencers, safely and quietly vent pressurized air to atmosphere. They are commonly installed on air valves, cylinders, manifolds and fittings.

Q: How do mufflers reduce noise?

A: Mufflers that attenuate sound waves by interference are known as reactive mufflers. These devices generally separate the waves into two components that follow different paths and then come together again out of phase (out of step), thus canceling each other out and reducing the sound.

Q: Do mufflers hurt performance?

A: An engine is able to generate more power, faster if it is able to get rid of all of the exhaust gases it produces quickly. By their nature, mufflers restrict exhaust flow or create back pressure, which slightly slows down your engine.

Q: Is it possible to get samples?

A: DALON can supply the sample for FREE, but the customers have to support the tooling cost if have and the courier cost.

Q: About tooling charge?

A: Tooling charge is ONE-OFF when first order, all future orders DALON would not charge again even tooling repair or under main trance.

Q: About lead time?

A: DALON usually effect delivery within 21daysafter advance payment. Stock items could be delivered within 3days. lf item need open tooling, consider extra 7days more.

Q: About payment terms?

A: Advance 50% and balance against copy of shipping B/L. For long term business DALON have more advantage terms for payment.
