DALON SINTERED PLASTIC MICRON FILTER INTRODUCTION

Micron Filter are made from spherical PE powder. the form, size and distribution of the powder are important parameters which affect the filters' properties.


Sintered Plastic Filter


There are two main types of sintered Micron Filter as Hydrophilic & Hydrophobic

Sintered PE filters are produced using the gravity sintering method. the PE powder is placed in a mold and sintered.

·During sintering, the powder particles are fused to one another at temperatures well below the melting point of the material. this process gives the highly porous filters their characteristic shape and properties.

·After sintering, the size and position of the pores are mechanically fixed. the powder particles also form a rigid whole. this gives the filters a strength, form and stability equal to those of a plastic component.


Micron Filter


Porous P/M parts are capable of extremely fine degrees of filtration. The subject of absolute vs. nominal filtration or micron ratings is too complex to be treated here; it is so complex, in fact, that much of the filter design in P/M porous media on new applications has been performance oriented (actual test of samples) rather than based on theoretical design data.


Performance Characteristics

In designing for P/M porous parts, it is assumed has a clear understanding of the function which wished the product to accomplish: in most cases, some phase of fluid control.

The performance functions of DALON micron filter are listed in four groups:


1) Filtration – defined as a separation process (removal of a gas, liquid, or solid from a gas or liquid) with as low a pressure drops a feasible.


2) Flow Control – defined as the establishment of a specific pressure drop in a fluid flow system.


3) Distribution – defined as the ability to provide a uniform fluid flow over a wide area, as in a sparger, air bearing or vacuum hold-down plate.


4) Porosity – defined as the interconnected open area within the matrix.
