DALON POLYETHYLENE FILTER INTRODUCTION:

Plastic polyethylene filter are made from spherical PE powder. the form, size and distribution of the powder are important parameters which affect the filters' properties.

Gravity or “loose powder” sintering is used to make porous plastic parts from powders that diffusion-bond easily. In this process, no outside pressure is applied to shape the part. The appropriate material, graded for size, is poured into a mold cavity, which is a void in the shape of the finished part. These metal particles are then heated to their sintering temperature at which point a metallurgical bonding takes place, and joining “necks” are formed at contact points.

Sintered PE filters are produced using the gravity sintering method. the PE powder is placed in a mold and sintered.

During sintering, the powder particles are fused to one another at temperatures well below the melting point of the material. this process gives the highly porous filters their characteristic shape and properties.

After sintering, the size and position of the pores are mechanically fixed. the powder particles also form a rigid whole. this gives the filters a strength, form and stability equal to those of a plastic component.

Porous sintered polyethylene products are a depth-filtration medium with distribution of pore size and length of passage qualities that are a factor of particle size, shape, and part dimension. The depth-filter not only has more dirt-holding capacity that a screen filter, but also has a higher pressure drop than a screen of equivalent porosity rating.
