What Is Sintering Process?

Mar 06, 2021

The sintering process is simply to mix raw materials and ingredients (iron concentrate, limestone, anthracite, rolled steel sheet, blast furnace slag, etc.) in a certain proportion, and produce the sintering technology with precise scientific calculation through the process of distribution, ignition, sintering, ore forming, screening and dust removal.

In particular, the preparation of raw materials is the first step in sintering. 1、 The raw materials containing iron require high iron grade and less impurities; 2. Solvent, limestone or dolomite with high CaO content; thirdly, anthracite and coking coal with high carbon content. Then, the ingredients are made to obtain stable sinter.

Then, the raw material and the ingredients are mixed to make the composition of the sinter uniform and the moisture is suitable to improve the quality and output of the sinter. After the preparation work is completed, sintering can be started. The bottom material and mixture are distributed on the sintering machine, and the surface of the material layer is ignited to make it burn. During sintering, the air volume, vacuum degree, thickness of material layer, machine speed and sintering end point should be controlled accurately.

After a series of complex reactions, the sinter is discharged. The hot sintering cake is broken by water cooled crusher and cooled. Finally, the finished product is screened. At the same time, the sintering dust removal is done well in the sintering process.

This whole sintering process is down to produce the products needed, just like art products, to improve, can be said to be the art of industry.
